Volunteer and Employment
At KBSK we are a female led and diverse organisation. We further aim to diversify our board of directors and people in leadership positions. We aim to support our volunteers with training and support them in future positions as KBSK expands whilst also supporting them into other employment opportunities, with CV support, letters of recommendations and employability skills training as well as offering our own Safeguarding training to our own staff, volunteers and the wider community.
"In 2017 my life circumstances changed drastically and I suddenly found myself with more time on my hands. My mum who'd been battling cancer for 10 years passed away.
My life went from being full of hospital runs, chemotherapy, cleaning and caring to silence. I was completely lost. I’d been out of work for years and my confidence was at an all time low.
After seeing how desperate KBSK were for support with an event, I plucked up the courage to help. That led to volunteering at classes and everything grew from there.
I was scooped up and welcomed into the KBSK family Nurturing my strengths, they guided and supported me into my paid part time role now. I cannot even describe how this support has grown my confidence"
